Bikini Atoll is a coral reef in the Marshall Islands surrounding a 229sm central lagoon. For the wreck-diving enthusiasts out there, Bikini Atoll is one of the most intriguing ship graveyards, with 21 military wrecks offering impressive diving in a pristine lagoon ecosystem.

Sharks are in abundant here, with species including gray reef, silvertip, blacktip, whitetip, Indo-Pacific lemon, and even Galapagos sharks making an appearance in the sheltered waters of the inner lagoon.

On the outer reef, gray reef and blacktip sharks are seen with silky, oceanic whitetips, and the occasional hammerhead shark passing through.

When to dive in Bikini Atoll

You can dive here all year round but the best time to go diving in Bikini Atoll is from May-October.

Sea temperatures never fall below 80°F/27°C and can reach 86°F/30°C between September-November.

The journey to Bikini Atoll is an adventure in itself, involving several days of travel, flights, and transfers.

From Australia and Asia you have the choice to fly through Honolulu or Guam. We recommend Australia to Honolulu. Flying from Guam, you will need to fly via Manila or Tokyo.

From the US and Europe, fly internationally to Hawaii’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) and overnight in Honolulu.
