The dive sites at the Isola Bella Marine Park are located around Taormina. These are Sicily's most popular dive sites!
We start from the bay of Giardini-Naxos in front of the Sunshine Cave, passing along the Greek Columns, diving around the Isola Bella and the Blue Cave, to end at the big rock 'Ziu Innaru'.
A lot of dives are wall diving, rock formations with wonderful swim throughs and endless On the walls and in the swim throughs we can enjoy a wealth of marine life like octopus, scorpionfishes, nudi branches and in the blue we can encounter groups of amberjack and tuna chasing sardines. We can enjoy the beautiful effects of the lights, showing the blue of the water, with a swim through exiting the cave.
The best time for scuba diving at Isola Bella is from May to October, when sea temperatures range from 18–26°C and conditions are calm. Summer offers warm water and excellent visibility. Spring and early autumn provide quieter dive sites with very good clarity. Winter diving is possible but cooler and weather-dependent. Seasonal timing ensures the best Taormina diving experience.
Accessing Isola Bella dive sites is easy via Catania Airport, followed by a 45–60 minute drive to Taormina. Local dive centres operate along the coast, offering guided boat and shore dives, equipment rental, and certification courses. Many sites are accessible directly from the shoreline or short boat trips. With clear waters and convenient access, diving at Isola Bella is one of Sicily’s top Mediterranean experiences.
