Pactola Reservoir is the deepest reservoir in South Dakota. Magnificent rock formations for this lake and a number of freshwater aquatic species, including turtles and frogs, perch, rock bass, largemouth bass, Kokanee salmon, brown trout, and rainbow trout live here.

Lake Francis is another popular spot amongst local divers. This incredible lake covers 100,000 square acres and is home to many fish including channel catfish and walleye, bass and largemouth bass, crappies, and northern pikes.

When to dive in South Dakota

A 5/7mm wetsuit is recommended for the spring/summer months whilst divers may want to opt for a drysuit for comfort in the cooler months.
