Volcanic island with beautiful beaches of glistening black sand, blue skies and mountains are the setting for many of Tenerife's diving spots.
Scuba diving in Tenerife means diversifying your experiences, as sandy bottoms alternating with rocks and cliffs overlooking the sea are suitable for all levels, from beginner to expert and even technical divers. In the depths of Tenerife reside many and different forms of aquatic life, some of these now live only in the Canary Islands or migrate at specific times of the year.
Many diving spots in Tenerife are characterized by volcanic environments, which worked by the erosion of the sea have formed caves, tunnels and truly unique environments.
One of the advantages of scuba diving in Tenerife is that you can do it all year round, because the water temperatures vary from 19 degrees in winter to 21 degrees in summer, making it possible to dive with a 5 mm wetsuit even in more chilly.
To reach Tenerife it is necessary to take the plane or the ship. The departures are weekly from the peninsula to the ports of Huelva or Cadiz and the duration is more or less 36 hours arriving at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the north of the island.
To reach Tenerife by plane, there are two airports, one in the north used mostly by domestic and internal flights to the islands which is located two kilometers from San Cristobal de la Laguna, the second airport of Tenerife, Reina Sofia, is located in the south of the island, 25 minutes from the tourist center of Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje, all airports are conveniently served by bus and taxi.
